Working Principle


The marine cantilever crane operates through the coordinated work of a power system, transmission mechanism, lifting mechanism, and control system, specifically optimized for marine working conditions:

Power Supply: Electric models are powered by the ship’s 3-phase AC power (380V/440V), while hydraulic models rely on an electric motor driving a hydraulic pump to generate high-pressure oil flow; manual models rely on manual operation for light-load lifting.

Lifting Movement: The power system drives the hoisting winch (equipped with high-strength steel wire ropes and hooks) to wind or unwind, realizing vertical lifting and lowering of loads. The lifting speed is adjustable to ensure stable handling of fragile or small items.

Cantilever Adjustment: Foldable/telescopic models adjust the cantilever length or angle through hydraulic cylinders or manual mechanisms, expanding the working range while saving space when retracted. Fixed models have a fixed cantilever angle for stable operation.

Slewing Function: Most models are equipped with a slewing mechanism that drives the cantilever to rotate 180°–360°, enabling omnidirectional lifting operations on the ship deck.

Safety Control: The integrated control system is equipped with overload protection, upper and lower limit switches, anti-sway devices, and emergency stop buttons. It adapts to ship heeling (≤5°) and trimming (≤2°) conditions, automatically cutting off power or stopping operation in abnormal situations to ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and cargo at sea.
